Recap Scottish Boys Open (8–10 April 2026, Cruden Bay, Scotland)
The Scottish Boys Open in Cruden Bay was a great experience and another valuable opportunity to compete internationally. Playing on such a demanding links course against a strong field was exciting and provided many important lessons for the future. Unfortunately, the result was not what I had hoped for, and I missed the cut after two rounds.
One of the key factors this week was the draw and having the right tee time. Over both days, one side of the field clearly had more favorable weather conditions than the other. With strong winds and heavy rain affecting parts of the competition, the difference in conditions played a significant role.
At the same time, tournaments like this show how much experience is needed to perform successfully in true links golf conditions. Managing ball flight, course strategy, and staying patient in difficult weather are skills that only improve through playing events like this. I was clearly missing those skills.
Even though the outcome was disappointing, the week was still an important step in my development and motivation to keep improving.
Unfortunately, my ranking was also not enough to secure a place in the field for the upcoming Italian International Amateur Championships at Villa d’Este.
I also want to thank everybody who kept their fingers crossed and followed me on livescoring.
